These
pictures were taken along the Lower Snake River from the Lewis and Clark
campsite of October 13, 1805 opposite Ayer, Washington in a little cove on
the north side of the river, to their campsite of October 14th, 1805 which
was on an island now under the waters of Lake Sacajawea, opposite Burr
Canyon and just down river of Lower Monumental Dam." The picture of the
Indian rock art is not in this area, but a good example of the kinds of rock
painting the Corps saw along the way. |
