Tours

These are 2 to 5 day car caravan tours and can be extended to see more of the sites along the trails and routes. Many historic sites will be seen and discussed, along with the local history of the area, the geology and formation of the country, the river connections and Indian history and lore. Tours can be tailored to your needs. Prices depend on the individual tour we arrange together with you. We can also step on to your pre-arranged bus tour.

Don Popejoy - Secretary and Membership Chair of the Washington State chapter of the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, contributes articles to the chapter newsletter; on the Board of Directors of the Oregon/California Trails Association and National Membership Chairman, Trail Monitor of the Northwest Chapter of OCTA and the Editor of the chapter's newsletter Update and Journal, contributes articles to the chapter newsletter Involved with preserving, protecting and marking the Oregon Trail throughout Oregon and Idaho. Currently writing a series of books about Lewis and Clark in Washington State, the Mullan Military Road and the History of the Spokane River. Tour Instructor and Coordinator for Elderhostel.

Tom Laidlaw - Webmaster for many historical websites about Lewis and Clark, Oregon Trail, Living History. Living History Re-enactors. Board member of Oregon-California Trails Association, contributes articles to NW chapter newsletter, interpretive guide and tour leader at Fort Vancouver. Brings history alive at schools and historical museums with several first person character sketches of early Oregon settlers and personalities. Tour instructor for Elderhostel

Talks

In addition to road tours, we can come to your association meeting or school with talks about the trails and  history of the Pacific Northwest. Subjects covered are Lewis and Clark, Hudson's Bay Company, formation of Oregon Provisional Government, influence of missionaries on early Oregon, the Oregon Trail, mountain man stories and tall tales. You can have a straight historical talk or have one of history's great characters visit you in person. Characters such as John McLoughlin, Peter Skene Ogden, George Abernethy, William Cannon and others.
