The day started with a trip to the Capitol Building in Helena, MT. Here's Lloyd & Julia Soehren in front of this beautiful Capitol. Below is a cartouche depicting M. Lewis overlooking the Missouri River. Also a picture of your webmaster at the Montana State Historical Museum, with his newly acquired hat and Montana flag.

Then it was on to the the highlight of the day -- a two hour jet boat trip through the Gates of the Rocky Mountains, named by M. Lewis for its grandeur, and elements of danger. Some of the "Big-horned animals" noted by Lewis came down to meet us.
And, fiinally, a shot of our coordinator, Don Popejoy.
