near the Gates of the
Mountains Recreation area we saw the Sleeping Giant. e then took a
wonderful scenic boat ride through the wilderness described by Lewis on
July 19, 1805. He remarked that the walls were so high and steep it looked
like rocks could fall on them.

At the Capitol we attended
the Supreme Court. Would you want to argue a case before these judges.

Great
Falls to Helena. First stop today was at Ulm Pishkun. Meriwether Lewis
wrote of how the Indians ould lure the buffalo to the edge of a cliff and
stampede them over - risky business for the young lad used as bait.
Some
of our ladies pose in front of a tepee in the exhibit area. this
interpretive center does a good job of explaining Montana Indian culture.
the buffalo jumps were used before the horse and gun came.
