Friday my luggage showed up in time for me to still do some stuff. I went out to one of the Roman Fort Sites along the Antonine Wall. This is Roughcastle Fort, and it has some great signs and views, plus some visible remains.



These pits, called lilia, were originally about 9 feet deep and had sharpened stakes sticking up from the bottom. Historic Scotland wisely steered away from absoluteauthenticity.
