Miscellaneous Stamps
Having completed cataloging the stamps on Columbia, I have begun to
seek out other interesting stamps in a rather random way. I am now
mainly looking for stamps for street names that no longer exist. I
have found a few but many are gone completely. For instance Daniels
St. was originally Park St. (it led straight from the center of
Esther Short Park). I despaired of finding a Park St. stamp, but
recently happened upon three and a partial fourth. On the SW corner
of 17th & Daniels, we can see both names within a few feet of each
other. The same situation is on the SE corner, and PARK ST. still
exists at NE16th & Daniels, but the DANIELS ST is gone. And a
partial PARK exists at NW 16th & Daniels.
